The Lighting Lives in Liberia program was launched by the Rural Renewable Energy Agency (RREA) in 2012 to support the development of the local market for Pico-PV products. To date the program has providing improved lighting for over 80,000 people in Liberia by:
- supporting the sale of 16,000 solar products through local retail partners,
- donating 500 solar lanterns to the Ministry of Health for distribution to the Ebola Response Teams.
A new rural electrification project is underway.
