Working with Governments

Lighting Africa is working with governments in Sub-Saharan Africa to expand access to modern lighting solutions for communities not connected to the national electricity grid, most of which are found in rural areas.

The program has published findings on key policy and regulatory barriers, and strategies for increasing off-grid lighting based on detailed case studies in eight countries – Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, Senegal, and Tanzania.
