Lighting Africa Product Reviews

In order to make informed purchasing decisions, buyers of off-grid lighting systems need reliable, unbiased information about the quality of a full range of products. Lighting Africa is establishing a Product Review program to provide buyers with evaluations of products which are presently available in the African Marketplace.  The evaluations will both highlight top performers as well as identify those products whose performance may not meet consumer needs. 

The results of the evaluations will be published and widely distributed to potential buyers, including wholesale and retail customers, through a variety of media.  Products would be evaluated against the standardized test methods Lighting Africa has developed as part of its Product Quality Assurance Program.  To learn more about the testing methodology, look for: #1: "Standardized Testing Methods for Off-Grid Lighting Products," on the Product Quality Assurance page

The Product Review program will, by nature, reward companies that produce affordable, high quality products.  Importantly, it will also provide customers with information that allows them to avoid products whose performance does not meet their needs.

Reports associated with the product reviews effort will be posted on this page as they become available. In addition, we will occasionally post reviews written by other organizations that – in our judgment – provide information that may be useful to those who visit our website.  We cannot, of course, verify or be held accountable for the information contained in reviews produced by other organizations.
