Yes. The ISM requires a fee; the cost is typically $500-1000 depending on the test lab.
Do I send a product sample directly to Lighting Global through the mail?

After I submit by product(s) for testing, when can I expect to get the test results back?
The results are typically ready approximately 6 weeks from the time products are received.
Which laboratories are approved by Lighting Africa to perform the LA-ISM?
The following laboratories are presently approved to conduct LA’s LA-ISM:
- The Schatz Energy Research Center, Humboldt State University (USA)
- The Lighting Laboratory and the Institute for Nuclear Science & Technology, University of Nairobi (Kenya)

DISCLAIMER: Because samples submitted for the LA-ISM are self-selected by companies (as opposed to the LA-QTM where products are pulled from the marketplace by unbiased Lighting Africa representatives), Lighting Africa cannot verify that the samples received are representative of those found in retail channels. Lighting Africa relies on the private sector’s good faith to submit products that represent their product stock available in retail channels and are not modified or manipulated in any way for the purpose of resulting in elevated performance levels when undergoing Lighting Africa performance tests.
